The Satirical Eye @ NGV

Here are some photos from the Satirical Eye exhibition at the NGV. There were great prints, and it was interesting to see original handwriting on the borders of some pictures.

Daumier was amazing, with a line that makes me think of Picasso. Maybe a hard wit, with a savage intent behind it? The way in which he could construct a head, from any angle, with such simplicity, yet with so much character, was just amazing.

And Goya ... well, he was just Goya, with his Los Caprichos suite being represented here.
